Donation quilt with framed squares

This was the first of the donation strip quilts I pieced. After this one, I realized that the squares really needed a frame around them, and so I pieced them that way before adding the strips. On this one, I had just the squares, which left it feeling very busy and with no place to rest the eyes.

After all the piecing, I decided to add bias tape and other fabric around each square to make it feel more put together. The photo is not great, but you can get the idea!
