A modern medallion

Following along with LSMQG's sew-along in 2025, I purchased the pattern and began working on A Modern Medallion. I soon realized that I did not want my medallion quilt to be square as the pattern suggested. I worked to learn how to make my own paper piecing for the New York Beauties. I liked the concept of interruption, and so bias tape as well as fabrics were included to enter or cover over the medallion. I also intentionally left the bottom right corner without the background fabric, as I wanted to enhance the medallion shape's prominence over a traditional quilt shape. I quilted on my domestic and mirrored the "interruption" over the quilt.
