Reno, We’re Outa Here! And Kinda Sad To Go!!

Blue sky with loads of clouds. Andrew is in the distance looking at th mountains all covered in snow.
Sun Valley Public Lands.

We’re Outta Here! It’s time to leave Reno and head to Bishop, CA for a couple weeks before moving onto new ventures. But sparkwe love Reno; so we’re kinda sad to go. If you come to Reno – check out some of our favorite places and see why we love it here.

We’re going to miss the people of Reno

We love Reno, the sights, the food, and the people have been great to us. The people from Reno are the nicest, and we got to experience that again yesterday as we soaked in the hot tub. We are staying at Sparks Marina RV Resort for a couple days to keep an eye on the little house as it officially sells on March 2!

The young couple in the hot tub couldn’t have been nicer and we chatted about their future RV life plans. Of course we shared some insights after being on the road for 5 years. They were really friendly – just like so many people here in Reno.

Other things we love about Reno – in no particular order

The Views

The views in every direction are amazing. Reno is in a “bowl” and the mountains are all around. The skies are blue and sunny almost constantly and driving around town you’ll get to see the mountains almost anywhere!

Where we eat before we’re outta here

There are so many independent restaurants! Delicious and wonderful – Chinese Duck House (they don’t have a website… get the roast duck!!!), Roberto’s Taco Shop, Great Basin Brewing Company, Cantina Los Tres Hombres (the new location near Sparks Marina), Sushi Pier (the original in the parking lot with Costco), Scoopers Drive-In, Peg’s for breakfast, Two Chicks, SUP, and so many more.

We’re sad to go – We’ll miss the beer!

We also love all the independent breweries and distilleries. Great Basin is probably our favorite. Other amazing places for a drink are The Depot (also has amazing food), 10 Torr, IMBIB, and The Brewer’s Cabinet.

Idlewild Area

We really got to know this neighborhood as we often stay at River West RV Resort when we are in town. Food Truck Fridays at Idlewild Park during the warm months are super fun. It’s awesome food, drinks, music all at a beautiful spot on the Truckee River near Midtown. When in the neighborhood check out The Nest. This is my favorite vintage boutique!

Go to Lake Tahoe and Truckee!

Take a 45 minute drive and you’re at Lake Tahoe or Truckee with hikes and nature and skiing and more great local shops, restaurants, and even more beautiful views!

MidTown is the Heart of Reno

MidTown anything. Go to PolyEster’s for awesome costumes and vintage clothing, shoes, jewelry and other great stuff! If you’re into bar crawls this is the place for you! Love wandering in and out of cool locally owned shops, stopping for lunch and a drink, and enjoying all the art that is literally everywhere including Nevada Museum of Art!

We’re outta here!

Time to say good-bye to a really great chapter in our RV and Small Business lives. We will miss you, Reno! We’re outta here!
